Aluminum Polishing Solution EP 8539

Aluminum Polishing Solution EP 8539 is designed to smooth and polish aluminum surfaces to a mirror-like finish, removing sharp edges. It creates a glossy surface without emitting nitric acid fumes, making it easy to maintain and improving the durability of the aluminum surface.

Usage Instructions

1. Prepare the Aluminum Surface:

   • Clean the aluminum surface using Soak Clean B1 at a concentration of 60 – 75 grams per liter.

   • Rinse with clean water.

2. Desmut:

   • Use Desmut 1015 at a concentration of 15%.

   • Rinse with clean water (preferably running water).

3. Polishing:

   • Perform polishing in the aluminum polishing tank with Aluminum Polishing Solution EP 8539.

   • Set the DC current to 12 - 24 volts and 20 – 80 amps per square decimeter.

   • Maintain the temperature between 65 – 80°C.

   • The polishing time is 2 – 16 minutes.

4. Rinse with Clean Water:

   • Rinse with clean water to remove the polishing solution.

5. Acid Rinse (if necessary):

   • Use a solution of sulfuric acid at a concentration of 10 – 25% by volume to remove white and dull residues that may remain.

6. Final Hot Water Rinse:

   • Rinse with hot water (change frequently) to remove water spots and to speed up drying of the aluminum surface.

Maintenance and Solution Adjustment:

• Solution Replenishment: Add solution to compensate for losses from drag out and check the solution density.

• Sediment Removal: Remove sediment periodically to extend the solution’s life.

• Solution Balancing: Adjust the solution balance by adding more solution and analyzing its chemical properties.

Equipment Requirements:

• Power Source: Direct current (DC) power source, preferably with voltage control.

• Cathodes: Typically made from chemical lead or aluminum series 300.

• Heat Source: Titanium heater.

• Electropolishing Tank: Generally made from steel lined with PVC or other temperature-resistant materials.

Notes:

• Proper cleaning and rinsing are crucial for achieving high-quality polishing.

• Adjust time and temperature according to desired results for the best outcome.
