Troubleshooting for Blue Chrome 6

Zinc Chromating

Zinc chromating powder is a chrome 6 type blue chromate. It is a metal surface treatment process that requires small amounts and is easy to maintain. The pH of the solution does not change frequently. It provides excellent corrosion resistance and gives the workpiece a blue color while adhering well.

After dipping the workpiece in the zinc chromating solution, it should be rinsed with clean water immediately and baked quickly. If the workpiece is left in the air for too long, the color will peel off, removing the zinc coating and increasing the formation of a yellowish film on the workpiece.

How to use

Example of Solution Mixing

To make 100 liters of solution, weigh 700 grams (7 decagrams) of Zinc Chromating and dissolve it in about 70 liters of water. Gradually add 1.5 liters of Nitric Acid, then stir until mixed. After that, add the remaining water to reach the desired volume, and stir again until the solution is thoroughly mixed.

Immersion Process
