Stripper Brass
NEOBRITE RS
Nickel Stripping Agent for Brass
NEOBRITE RS is a powdered nickel stripping agent containing sulfur, commonly used to remove nickel layers from brass. The sulfur-containing solution reacts with the nickel layer, allowing it to be stripped quickly and effectively. However, caution must be exercised as these chemicals are typically highly corrosive and can be hazardous if not used correctly.
Properties of NEOBRITE RS:
Rapid Nickel Removal: The sulfur component facilitates a reaction that dissolves the nickel layer quickly.
Preserves Brass Surface: Does not corrode the brass surface, maintaining the material's original quality.
Easy to Use: Simply mix with water and use immediately.
Mixing Instructions:
NEOBRITE RS: 100 - 150 grams/liter
Sulfuric Acid: 50 cc/liter
Example of Nickel Stripping Solution Preparation:
To prepare 100 liters of nickel stripping solution:
Use 13 kg of NEOBRITE RS.
Add 5 liters of sulfuric acid.
Fill with clean water until the total volume reaches 100 liters.
Steps for Stripping Nickel from Brass Parts:
Prepare the Solution: Mix the powdered nickel stripping agent containing sulfur with water in a chemical-resistant container (e.g., plastic or glass) according to the recommended ratios above.
Immerse the Workpiece: Submerge the brass workpiece in the prepared NEOBRITE RS solution for 5-10 minutes or until the nickel is fully removed, then promptly remove the workpiece from the solution.
Rinse the Workpiece: Rinse thoroughly with clean water multiple times. Additional anti-oxidation treatment can be applied if necessary.
Waste Management: Properly collect and dispose of the remaining chemicals, as sulfur-containing solutions can be hazardous.
*Personal protective equipment, such as gloves, goggles, and masks, should be worn for safety during use.
